Customizing Your iPhone 3GS: How to Personalize Your Device

Your iPhone 3GS is more than just a phone, it's an extension of your personality. By customizing your device, you can make it truly unique and tailored to your style. In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through several ways to personalize your iPhone 3GS.

1. Change the Wallpaper:
- Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap on "Wallpaper."
- Choose either "Choose a New Wallpaper" or "Camera Roll."
- Select the image you want as your wallpaper from your albums or Apple's preloaded options.
- Adjust the position of the wallpaper if necessary and tap "Set."

2. Set a Custom Ringtone:
- Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap on "Sounds."
- Tap on "Ringtone" under Sounds and Vibration Patterns.
- Choose either one of Apple's preloaded ringtones or scroll down for more options.
- If you have a custom ringtone saved in iTunes, click on “Custom” at the top of the list to access them.
- Once selected, exit out of settings for changes to take effect.

3. Rearrange Apps:

You can arrange apps in any order you prefer using these steps:

- Locate an app icon that you want to move by tapping and holding it until all icons wiggle.

– Drag that app icon around by moving it with your finger within its current screen or drag it towards another screen.

– Release when in desired location.

4. Create App Folders:

Organize similar apps into folders with these instructions:

– Tap and hold an app icon until all icons begin wiggling

– Drag one app onto another compatible neighboring app while still holding

– Now you have a new folder, which you can rename by tapping on its name field

– To add more apps, drag them into the folder

– Press the home button when finished organizing.

5. Customize Control Center:
- Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone.
- Tap on "Control Center."
- Customize the options in both the "Include" and "More Controls" sections.
- Rearrange or remove controls by tapping on the three horizontal lines and dragging them.
- Tap outside of Control Center settings to save changes.

6. Change App Icon Size:

If you want to change app icon size for better visibility or aesthetic preferences:

- Go to “Settings” and select “Display & Brightness.”
- Tap “View” under Display Zoom category.
- Choose between Standard or Zoomed view for larger icons (Standard is default).
- Select your preferred option and tap on “Set.”

7. Personalize Screen Appearance with Widgets:
Widgets offer quick access to frequently used information like weather, calendar events, news, etc. Here's how to add widgets to your device's home screen:

– Swipe right from your primary home screen until you see a list of widgets titled Today View

– Scroll down until you find an empty space with a "+ Add Widget" button below it

– Tap "+ Add Widget"

– Look through available widget options and select one that appeals to you

– Use the three horizontal lines next to each widget’s name for rearranging their order in Today View
