  2. Tap on the gear icon to open the Settings menu.
  3. Scroll down and select "Apps."
  4. Choose the app you want to restrict from running in the background.
  5. Tap on "Battery."
  6. Select "No restrictions" or "Restrict background activity" (depending on your preference).

2. Reduce Screen Brightness

The screen brightness consumes a significant amount of battery power. Lowering the brightness level can help extend your Xiaomi Redmi Note 12's battery life:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notification panel.
  2. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease the brightness.
  3. Alternatively, go to Settings > Display > Brightness level and adjust it to a lower setting.

3. Enable Battery Saver Mode

Activating the Battery Saver Mode can optimize your device's performance and conserve battery life:

  1. Go to Settings > Battery & Performance.
  2. Tap on "Battery Saver."
  3. Toggle the switch to enable Battery Saver Mode.
  4. You can also customize the Battery Saver settings according to your preferences.

4. Manage Sync Settings

Syncing data in real-time can drain your battery faster. To manage your sync settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts & Sync.
  2. Select the account you want to manage.
  3. Disable sync for unnecessary apps or adjust the sync interval for specific apps.

5. Close Unused Apps

Running multiple apps simultaneously can be a battery drain. Follow these steps to close unused apps:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the Recent Apps menu.
  2. Swipe left or right to navigate through the running apps.
  3. Swipe an app up or tap the close button to close it.

6. Limit Location Services

Location services utilize GPS and drains battery power. To limit location services:

  1. Go to Settings > Location.
  2. Toggle off "Use location."
  3. Alternatively, you can select "Battery-saving mode" or "Device sensors only" instead of "High accuracy" mode.

7. Adjust Screen Timeout

Setting a shorter screen timeout can help save battery power. Follow these steps to adjust the screen timeout:

  1. Go to Settings > Display > Sleep.
  2. Select a shorter duration (e.g., 15 seconds, 30 seconds) for the screen timeout.

8. Disable Vibration

Vibrations consume more battery power than ringtones. To disable vibration:

  1. Go to Settings > Sound & Vibration.
  2. Toggle off "Vibrate on touch" or "Vibrate on tap."

9. Update System and Apps

Keeping your Xiaomi Redmi Note 12's system and apps updated can optimize battery performance. Here's how to update them:

  1. Go to Settings > About phone > System updates.
  2. Tap on "Check for updates."
  3. If updates are available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install them.
  4. Additionally, update your apps by visiting the Google Play Store, tapping on the three horizontal lines, and selecting "My apps & games." Update individual apps or choose "Update all."

10. Use Wi-Fi Instead of Mobile Data

Using Wi-Fi for internet connectivity consumes less battery power than mobile data. Here's how to switch to Wi-Fi:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notification panel.
  2. Tap on the Wi-Fi icon to enable it.
  3. Select a Wi-Fi network from the available options.

By following these steps, you can significantly improve the battery life on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 12.
