- Go to "Settings" by swiping down from the top of the screen and tapping on the gear icon.
- Tap on "Display".
- Adjust the brightness level slider to a lower setting or enable auto-brightness.
- Set a shorter screen timeout period under "Sleep".

Step 2: Optimize Battery Usage

- Open "Settings" again.
- Scroll down and tap on "Battery & Performance".
- Tap on "Manage Apps Battery Usage".
- Select each app individually or tap on "Choose apps" to customize their battery usage.

“Intelligent control” depending upon your preference.

Step 3: Enable Adaptive Battery

- Stay in the same “Battery & Performance” section.
- Enable “Adaptive Battery” by tapping on it.
- This feature regulates power allocation based on app usage patterns.

Step 4: Disable Unused Connectivity Options

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro offers various connectivity options that may consume power unnecessarily when not in use. Follow these steps to disable them:

a) Wi-Fi:

- Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to access Quick Settings panel.
- Long press on Wi-Fi icon until you reach Wi-Fi settings menu.
- Toggle off Wi-Fi when not needed.

b) Bluetooth:

- Follow the same steps as above to access Quick Settings panel.
- Long press on Bluetooth icon until you reach Bluetooth settings menu.
- Turn off Bluetooth when not in use.

c) GPS:

- Open “Settings” and tap on “Location”.
- Toggle off GPS when not required.

Step 5: Enable Battery Saver Mode

- Tap on "Settings" and go to "Battery & Performance" once again.
- Enable "Battery Saver".
- This mode limits background activity, reduces screen brightness, and optimizes certain
system settings to extend battery life.

Step 6: Restrict Background Data Usage

- In the same “Battery & Performance” section, tap on "Manage apps battery usage" again.
- Tap on "Choose apps".
- Select apps that you don't need to constantly receive updates or notifications from (e.g. social media apps).
- Choose either “Don't allow background activity” or enable “Restrict data usage in the background”.

Step 7: Uninstall Unnecessary Apps

- Open your app drawer by swiping up from the home screen.
- Long press an app icon until a menu appears above it.
- Drag and drop the app onto the "Uninstall" option at the top of your screen.

Note: Be cautious while uninstalling system apps as it may affect device functionality.

Step 8: Disable Vibration for Calls and Notifications

While vibration is useful for alerts, it uses more power compared to ringtones. To disable vibration:

a) Calls:

- Go to “Settings”, then tap on “Sound & vibration” or similar options based on MIUI version.
- Toggle off both incoming call vibrations and vibrate while ringing options.

b) Notifications:

- Access “Settings”, then tap on “Notifications & status bar” or relevant option for your MIUI
version.
- Toggle off vibrations for incoming notifications.

Step 9: Reduce Sync Frequency for Email and Other Apps

- Open “Settings” and navigate to "Accounts & sync".
- Select the account you want to modify (e.g. email).
- Decrease the sync frequency to elongate battery life (e.g. from every 15 minutes to every hour).

Step 10: Update Your Software

Keeping your device's software updated can improve battery performance by fixing bugs and optimizing power management algorithms.
- Go to "Settings" and tap on "About phone".
- Tap on "System update" or similar option depending on your MIUI version.
- Install any available updates if prompted.

By following these steps, you should be able to significantly improve the battery life of your Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro. Remember that individual usage patterns may vary, so it's essential to monitor how different settings affect your device's battery performance. Enjoy longer-lasting usage with optimized power management!
