HTC Sense UI: Understanding and Navigating the Interface on your HTC Desire 12+

Posted on July 23, 2023 by HowTo.help

HTC Sense UI is the user interface developed by HTC for their smartphones, including the HTC Desire 12+. It offers a unique and customizable experience for users to navigate through their device's features and settings. This article will guide you through understanding and navigating the HTC Sense UI on your HTC Desire 12+ smartphone.

Step 1: Unlocking your smartphone

To begin using your device, press the power button located on the right side of your phone. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen or enter a PIN/pattern/fingerprint to unlock it.

Step 2: Home Screen

Once unlocked, you'll be taken to the Home Screen. This is where you can access various apps, widgets, and other features of your phone. The Home Screen consists of multiple panels that you can swipe left or right to navigate between.

Step 3: App Drawer

The App Drawer contains all installed applications on your smartphone. To access it, swipe up from the bottom center of any Home Screen panel. You can scroll vertically to find apps or use the search bar at the top to quickly locate specific applications.

Step 4: Quick Settings Panel

To access quick settings such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, screen brightness control, etc., swipe down from the top of any screen (except when viewing full-screen content like videos). Here you can toggle various settings with a single tap.

Step 5: Notifications Panel

Swiping down a second time after accessing Quick Settings opens up Notifications Panel. It displays notifications such as missed calls, text messages, app updates alerts among others. You can tap on notifications to view them in detail or clear them by swiping them away.

Step 6: Customizing Home Screens and Widgets

HTC Sense UI allows customization options for home screens and widgets placement. To add widgets/app shortcuts onto home screens long-press an empty area on any home screen panel until options appear at the bottom (e.g., Add apps and widgets, Wallpaper, etc.). Tap "Add apps and widgets" to explore available options.

Step 7: HTC Themes

Personalize your HTC Desire 12+ by applying themes. To access the Themes menu, long-press an empty area on any home screen panel until options appear at the bottom. Tap on "Themes" to view a selection of pre-installed themes or download additional ones from the Theme Store.

Step 8: BlinkFeed

BlinkFeed is a customizable news feed aggregator available on HTC Sense UI. Swipe right from your leftmost home screen panel to access BlinkFeed. You can add topics of interest like news, sports, technology, etc., as well as integrate social media accounts for updates in one place.

Step 9: Recent Apps

To switch between recent applications or close them altogether, tap the square navigation button located in the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen. This will open up a carousel-like interface with all recently opened apps displayed horizontally.

Step 10: Settings Menu

To access various settings for your device such as Wi-Fi settings, display settings, app permissions, etc., swipe down from the top of any screen to open Quick Settings Panel and tap on the gear-shaped icon in its upper-right corner. Alternatively, you can also find Settings by tapping on App Drawer and searching for "Settings."

These steps should provide you with a solid understanding of how to navigate and utilize HTC Sense UI on your HTC Desire 12+. Feel free to explore further customization options within each menu or try out different features offered by this intuitive user interface!
